Retrospective Analysis of the International Norms of Refugee Rights Protection and the Issues of Refugees or Internally Displaced Persons Legal Protection in Ukraine

The article examines the problem of implementation of the international norms on providing refugees with asylum, the procedure of granting status of refugee in the national legislation. The author states that national legal framework regulating the legal status of refugees in Ukraine today can be described as basically formed.However, the current Ukrainian legislation on refugee protection can not be called perfect, since a number of norms do not meet international standards for the treatment of refugees. The study reveals that in Ukraine today there is an urgent need to define and legalize the legal status of those citizens of Ukraine and those persons who have forcedly left their permanent residences in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The steps taken by the state to solve the urgent problems of such persons do not eliminate the need for solving these tasks at the theoretical level and do it systematically and comprehensively.
